Everyone wants to learn how to make money on YouTube, but few understand how to actually do it. Once you understand, you'll see that there are so many different ways of utilizing YouTube to earn income. In this post, we're going to be covering one method of using a weird niche to make money on YouTube.

Before getting into the complete method, it must be said that I can't guarantee that you'll make any money, because I can't guarantee that you'll actually take action with the information I'm giving you.

What We're Covering

In this post, we're going to be covering the following:

  • A weird niche you can use to start making money on YouTube
  • How much some channels in this niche could be potentially making
  • How easy these videos are to make

  • A super cool way to outsource this process so you don't even have to make the videos

This video will take you step-by-step through how you can do this yourself:

The method and weird niche I'm about to share with you is so amazing, because you can easily start making these types of videos yourself and then when you begin making some money, you can outsource the video creation process for very cheap.

So What's This Weird Niche?

Today we're going to be talking about the meditation niche on YouTube. Why meditation you ask? Well, there's a few reasons that I'm going to get into more later in this blog post, but basically I found a really cool way you can both monetize and outsource channels in this niche.

A simple YouTube search for the term “meditation” will reveal dozens of channels making mediation videos with hundreds of thousands of subscribers. Some even as many as millions of subscribers.

For the purpose of this example, we're going to be taking a look at the first search result when we search for the keyword “meditation” on YouTube and filter by channel: a guy named Michael Sealey. The reason I'm choosing this channel is because it's just a single guy making these videos. Plus, he only has 152 videos and over 1 million subscribers.

Here's what his channel page looks like:

As you can see, he only posts about once every two weeks, which is definitely not ideal when it comes to the YouTube algorithm. If you can post more than once every few weeks, you're going to have an instant competitive advantage.

Some of his videos include: “Sleep Hypnosis for Floating Relaxation” and “Hypnosis for Meeting an Unexpected Healing Guide.” They consist of him doing a voice over narration leading people through a meditation on top of soothing music.

If you know nothing about meditation, don't worry because I'm going to be showing you a method getting other people to make these meditations for you.

How Much Money Can You Make?

Social Blade is a free tool that allows you to see estimates of how much YouTube channels could be earning from ad revenue on their videos.

If we take a look at the Social Blade statistics on Michael Sealey's channel, we can see that he could be making between $1,000 and $18,000 a month from his channel – just from ads. And between $13,000 and $212,000 a year. Not bad for making meditation videos.

I actually estimate that he's making more than this from a different monetization strategy that I'm going to be sharing with you. With this strategy, I would guess he's making more than from just ads.

How Can You Make These Videos?

If you wanted to make these types of meditation videos yourself, you do not need any fancy equipment. All you need is a phone to record voice overs and a free editing app to edit the videos on.

If you've read my story, you know that I started making money on YouTube using a crappy iPhone for voice overs and I edited the videos on an old laptop that barely worked.

Here's my high tech setup that I used to make over $9,000 a month

How You Can Make More Money Monetizing These Videos

When I was making $9,000 a month from YouTube when I was 16 years old, that was solely from ad revenue. If you're not familiar, if your channel is approved for monetization, YouTube will pay you for every ad impression you get on your videos.

While this can provide a good source of income, I actually recommend a different way of making money with YouTube: promoting digital products.

What Are Digital Products?

Digital products can be online courses, meditation audio files, and even PDF eBooks. You can make a lot more per thousand views by promoting a digital product that you can with YouTube ad revenue alone.

And you don't even have to promote your own digital products. You can promote other peoples' digital products through marketplaces like Clickbank.

How Does This Relate to Meditation Channels?

You're probably wondering how this relates to meditation channels. Well, a simple digital product you can sell are, you guessed it, meditations! Take Michael Sealey's channel for example.

In the description of each of his videos, he has a link to his store in which he sells meditations for different prices.

From experience, I know the power of digital products. For example, a few months ago I made more in a single month from a small channel with only 7,000 subscribers than I did from a different channel with over 100,000 subscribers.

How to Outsource The Process

Now, like I promised, I'm going to reveal to you how you can outsource the process of making meditations. So if you know absolutely nothing about how to make meditations, don't worry.

To do this, we need to head to a little website called Fiverr.

On Fiverr, if you search “meditation” you'll notice that there are dozens of people who will make custom meditations for you for only a few dollars.

In fact, I found someone who will make meditations with commercial use included for only $15. On average, you make $1 per thousand views on YouTube from ad revenue. You would only need to get an average of 15,000 a video to break even, and that's not even counting if you're selling digital products too.

Conclusion

I really hope this guide helps you realize the potential in making money on YouTube. Meditation channels are just one of the hundreds of profitable niches that are out there.
